Susie Yi

The official bio version

Author and illustrator of graphic novels ranging from early reader to YA, published with HarperCollins (HarperAlley) and Macmillan (Roaring Brook Press).

I received my BA in molecular & cellular biology from Harvard University and a MS in computer science from the University of Chicago. For many years, I worked in healthcare and then tech, before serendipity and a leap of faith led me to where I am now.

My teachers have been the thousands of books I’ve read and the numerous illustrations I’ve admired and studied on my own.

Because of my experience in different industries, I have had the privilege of living what feels like vastly different lives. In my storytelling, I love to use my diverse life experiences to build worlds that inspire both kids and adults to dream bigger and feel real emotions.
