Hi There!
I’m an author and illustrator of graphic novels ranging from early reader to YA, published with HarperCollins and Macmillan.
I received my BA in molecular & cellular biology from Harvard University and a MS in computer science from the University of Chicago. Writing and drawing were serious hobbies of mine until one day, I decided to jump into a creative career.
CAT & CAT ADVENTURES is that series that started it all, and it is a sweet, exciting tale of two cats who eat snacks, make friends, defeat foes, and discover fun worlds. It is for early readers and is based on the beloved characters from my webcomic!
A SKY OF PAPER STARS is a middle grade graphic novel that draws upon my experiences as a Korean-American girl who lost her grandmother. It touches on grief, identity, and the power of family.
WHEN A TIGER FLIES is a YA graphic novel based on my experience being a 16 year old freshman at Harvard, a story about toxic first loves, finding your inner strength, and upending the stereotype of what it means to be a tiger.
A GIRL MADE OF ORANGE PEELS is a middle grade graphic novel about being comfortable in your own skin, middle school friendships, and the passage of youth and time. It’s a comfy, fun, and reflective coming-of-age story!
…and there are more stories and projects baking in the oven! Stay tuned and keep up with me on social media to get the latest updates.
In my storytelling, I love to use my diverse life experiences to build worlds that inspire both kids and adults to dream bigger and feel real emotions.
